The product is a Compaq Presario SR1500NX CD writer DVD Rom Combo
I am not able to safe any music to the library and burn them to the CD I am not able to find any instructions on how to even get started I bought a book for CD Burning and a book on XP when you research the CD Burning section the options to click on are not available.
I need help or a site to go to so I can print step by step and I can show my 11 year old how to do this fun feature on her own.

I also have a Compaq Presario XP. I have a built in cd burner in my computer.Purchased in Feb.2001. I have successfully burned a cd only once, by accident. I tried again after that but with no luck. I can't figure out how to name my dvd's and put them into the library so I can burn them. I have done numerous searches on "how to burn a cd. Only to find that the instructions are not user friendly. Can you help me. I have copied dvd's from my Yamaha Keyboard to a dvd recorder. Now I want to make copies and burn some cd's from my dvd discs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

For burning I would suggest that you make sure that you have the latest version of windows media player, I've burner several cd's using it, however my computer that I currently use is not a compaq.

I have a Compaq Presario F500 and I burnt around three cds on it, but when I went to burn another, it said that I didn't have a burner installed. I don't understand why out of no where it would say there wasn't a burner, when I had already used it multiple times. How do I even begin to fix the problems?

I accidently hit the cd carrier while it was open. Now it will not open or close. I can open and close by hand and PLAY CD's but I can not Burn them. It comes up no cd is installed. Now what do I do????? Can't afford to take it in to be fixed. any quick solutions ?????????? thenak you

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY PRESARIO C708LA
BUT AFTER A LONG SEARCH, I FOUND A FILE ON THE WINDOWS MENU. "ROXIO"
JUST CLICK AND BURN HEHE.

You can try installing some CD burning software such as Nero Burning ROM or Roxio Easy CD Creator.
