recentely it doesnt work properly it starts burning correctly,but after a while:
"I could not perform fixation",
"falling back to disk fixation"
"burn process aborted",appear.

the interesting fact is that, it works fine on one partition, but not at all recognized in another partition....and i found a virus ref.:

i need some advice on how to burn a cd with emachines computer. I have tried to burn one but it keeps saying that they couldnt find the file to burn it on. What should i do???

This entire thread is filled with people complaining about the same problem. Thankfully, I managed to catch the post by "airvent", who mentioned something about editing a registry setting to fix the problem.
And so.. I pursued that tactic, with ample reward. :)
Basically, the solution was to open up 'regedit' and navigate to this folder:
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD Burning\Drives'
Then click on the "Volume {_key_}" folder, and change the 'Drive Type' key value data to:
1 for CD-R
2 for CD-RW
And, viola.. Open up My Computer, right click on the burner drive, click Properties, select the tab Recording, and check 'Enable CD Recording on this Drive'.
