Installing HP Deskjet 3320 Printer on Windows Vista
Hi,
I cannot seem to find a printer driver for setting up my HP Deskjet 3320 printer on Windows Vista. Is there anything I can do to install my HP Deskjet 3320 printer on Windows Vista?

Hi Annie,
HP is not providing a Windows Vista driver for the HP Deskjet 3320 printer. But there is an alternative way to get the printer working on Windows Vista. Just follow these steps:
1. If your printer is connected to your computer, disconnect it.
2. Click on the Start menu.
3. Click on Control Panel
4. Click on the Hardware & Sounds control panel.
5. Click Printers.
6. Click "Add a Printer"
7. Click "Add a Local Printer"
8. Check off the "Use an existing port" check box.
9. In the list entitled "Use an existing port" choose "LPT1: (Printer Port)
10. Click on the "Next" button
11. Choose "HP" as the manufacturer from the list of manufacturers
12. In the printers list that shows up, choose "Deskjet 3500"
13. Click on the "Next" button
14. In the text box called "Printer name" type "Deskjet 3320"
15. Wait for the computer to say that the printer has been successfully added.
16. Connect your printer to your computer (i.e. connect the cable to the USB port at the back of your computer.
17. A "Found New Hardware" screen should show up. Click Cancel on this window. (if it keeps showing up, just keep on clicking cancel until no more windows pop up)
18. Go back to the printer folder (i.e. the one where you clicked "Add a Printer"
19. Right Click on "Deskjet 3320"
20. Click on "Properties" in the menu that popped up.
21. Select the "Ports" tab.
22. Change the port from "LPT1" to "USB"
23. Click on the "Apply" button.
And that's it! That should allow you to use your HP Deskjet 3320 printer in Windows Vista.
You might want to print out a test page just to make sure the printer works.

It doesn't matter if u don't get the found new hardware page you could continue anyway because this window will not always come up. It didn't come up on mine and it works anyway so just skip the step. |

I'm from France.
I'm very happy to find your post about installing a deskjet 3320 on my Computer with this bloody bastard of vista. I hate it.
So, after some trying ('cause, perhaps I've a Basic Vista)and because I wanted for the install screen which didn't come (so, I skipped this step) and some few minutes, my printer works !!!

I installed the above printer and it was calibrated and printed a test page. But when I try to print nothing happens. I've gone thru the troubleshooting on My Computer and still can't get it to print. Its connected to computer with USB. I have only two USB ports on the computer and have tried both, and still it won't print. Any suggestions? |

Hello! I networked two computers: a desktop with Windows XP and a laptop with Windows Vista. Printer HP 3320 is connected to desktop with XP. I managed to install a default printer and on Vista but can not print test page and can not access the properties. What should I do? Thanks! |

Anybody know how to install this on WIN7.
I had used the method above to install on Vista. But on WIN7 the Deskjet 3500 drivers arent present.
