I am trying to burn a power point on cd-r. the power point includes text, jpg's and wav files. it burns successfully but when i try to open it, it will not respond. it will open pwr pnt but will never open the presentation itself. what am i doing wrong? |

When I burn a compilation cd everything appears to be working properly, but I cannot hear anything when I play it back. It show the amount of tracks that I have played but there is no sound. I do not have this problem when I copy a disk only when I make a compilation. I have made a couple of compilation disks in the past so I believe I am doing it properly.You should also know that I have tried to playback on more than one player. I am perplexed. Is there a manual I can access to make sure I am following the right procedure? I am following the wizard. |

When I try to install Nero 5.5.10 on my computer I get the following message:
"The installation has detected that some of your systemfiles are outdated. In order to update these files the installation has to reboot your computer. The installation will continue after the reboot."
After I reboot I get the following message:
"The installation couldn't update your system files please get the latest updates for your operating system from Microsoft and afterward retry to install Nero-Burning Rom."
I have downloaded and installed all of the updates (critical and non-critical) for Windows 98 (my operating system) from the Microsoft web-site.
Can someone PLEASE help me install this software.

i have upgraded my windows from windows me to windows xp and my burner want work right it like burns all the tracks but when u play the cd it starts out on track 4 but when i had me windows it didnt do that it worked properly and my burner is compatible with xp so what do i do to get it to work right |

I get the same problem as Mike mentioned. I have a CD-RW drive by I/O Magic and it came with this Nero Software. It always says upon installation:
"Error 1305. Error reading from file E:\NERO55\NERO\CDROM.cfg. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."
It's really annoying. Someone please help! I may end up just downloading some software if this crappy CD won't work. |

The file birthday.mpg is not valid file for creating a standard video CD V2.0(CD-I player)disc. A compliant video file requires the following specifications.
MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video-CD:
audio: 44.1 kHz; stereo; 224 Kbit/s
video:352*240/29.97 Hz or 352*240/23.96 Hz or 352*288/25 Hz
The following problems were found:
-Stream encoding which is invalid for a (super) video-CD
-Invalid stream 29.97 frames/second, 320*240 Pixels
How would you like to continue?
Turn off standard compliance and continue?
Re-encode the video file

Hi, I am using version 4 to burn vcd.
Whether I am copy to disk or compilation cd.
everything seems to be fine. Until the last part.
Invalid parameter. Simulation failed at 12X.
Somehow, some files had been copy into the CDR.
when I try to open up the CDR, the pc is either hangs up or crash.
Anyone can help. |

CD-rewriter unit. I can use my unit as

Hi.
I just got my cd burner and tried to install the Nero software that came with. I also received the cdrom.cfg error. I was finally able to fix this by disabling my primary cdrom player(secondary being my cd writer). I disabled it by removing it physically from my laptop. Now that I have nero installed, I'm having problems burning audio cds but that is another story. |

Hi,
Surprised to see that many messages asking about "Error 1305. Error reading file". I think most common reason for that may be a DOS CD ROM driver in CONFIG.SYS . Comment it away with a semicolon i.e. something like this
;device=c:\windows\command\ebd\oakcdrom.sys /D:cdrom
--- and surprise: no errors any more... ;-)
Works with Nero and many others.

Hi. I've bought a DVD burner to replace my CD burner, and a copy of Nero came with both drives. I've tried installing the Nero that came with the DVD drive, and it gets to the "cover designer" install, and it fails every time. I was since told to uninstall my version of Nero that came with the CD burner, and I did it through the 'add/remove programs' thing. Now it seems that I can't completely uninstall the older Nero, as the new installation keeps failing. I ran that 'runedit' thing, and it found a file when I searched for 'Nero'. Only problem is, it won't let me delete it. Sometimes when i turn the computer on, the 'Ahead' file with all the Nero stuff in it is back in my program files. Please help! I'm so frustrated. Nothing I do seems to get rid of the old Nero, and until I delete it, I can't install the new one. And, of course, the old Nero won't work with the new drive, so for the time being, I can't burn a thing... |

I installed my Nero hardware and downloaded the software onto my XP, I go all the way through the burning process and when I get to the last step where it says burn it comes up with the message there is no cd in the divice. Please put in CD.
What am I doing wrong? I have tried all day and am so frustrated. This is not how I thought I would spend my 4th of July. Help me please.I have limited computer skills.

Using Windows MT. I'm trying to burn a floppy disk of Word Perfect(AscII format) material from my A drive to my external I/O Magic CD reader/ writer using Nero 5.5. Clicking on burn disk from the Nero Express menue works OK. BUT the Image Reader from which I want to copy has a source already entered which I believe is a CD drive letter that I can't delete to enter the A drive as my source.
How do I clear my Nero source window so I can enter the source as my A drive. I have the same problen trying to use my C drive or Zip drive to read a whole disk or for that matter just some of the files from the source disc. |
