I just managed to download the user manual of the GCE-8320. According to it:
"When using Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP or Window NT
Workstation Ver. 4.0, no special device driver is required. Your system, upon Power On and bootup after installing and connecting the new CD-RW drive, will recognize and load native software drivers automatically."
So forget about finding drivers for this thing. The problem I have is that I cannot read or write anything with it. The Device Manager says everything is fine. Will try to reinstall the driver and hope XP can install them again.
Better luck next time.

Interesting I just found all the comments posted here.
My CD-ROM drive (HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8320B) has been having problem reading or ejecting CDs.
(I use Windows XP Pro SP 2).
I have to ''manually'' eject using the Remove Storage from the Administrative Tools (under Computer Management, using the console tree, etc.)
I have to try to install a new driver or default and hope for the best. Thanks to all the good souls who take time to reply with tips.

Hi everybody,
my HL-DT-ST-CD-RW GCE-8320b has no problems to recognize and write CD-Rs from TDK with 800 MB (90 min.). Can't buy this CD-Rs anymore so bought EMTEC 800 MB. But if I try to burn files with more than 700 MB my NERO (NERO 6.0.0.9)tells me that CD hasn't enough space to burn the file. Can somebody help me? Thanks

I am having the same problem and I updated the driver, checked everything out and gce-8320b is still not reading or writing.
So I called LG and they said that the drive is probably just old and that they can do nothing about it and that I just have to buy a new cd rom.
Well i have had cd-rom last me three times as long as they one i have now, so I would just say next time make sure the cd-rw/dvd-r is not a LG

All I see are questions regarding the same driver.....no answers. This site is not effective.
