hi, i can only burn at upto 8 speed,any higher and i get a power calibration error.
hl-dt-st-cd-rw gce-8320b is the burner and im using xp profesional.
is the drive faulty?, is it a driver problem?or is there some other issue plz help

I have a different problem but i use the same burner and xp home. I can't burn anything. It writes the info but when closing the CD so it will work, it says some kind of error. If u try to use the CD again it says its corrupted

I also get the same problem...the power calibration error. Used to work fine until about a week ago, then it started acting up...anyone able to give me a heads up on it??

suddenly my CD-RW drive plays scratchy/distortion noise at the beginning of EVERY song on EVERY cd...then it plays fine...BUT the following tracks are worse and worse. Is this a faulty or shot drive? If anyone knows or has had this problem, your help would be tremendous..thanx

I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING I KNOW TO GET MY HL-GCE-8320B TO WORK.I HAVE BEEN ON THIS PROBLEM FOR MONTHS NOW. NO MATTER WHAT PROGRAM I USE,NERO-ALL VERSIONS OR ANY OTHER CD WRITER PROGRAM.AND MIND YOU I HAVE DOWLOADED EVERY WINDOWS UPDATE YOU CAN GET,AND EVERY SONY UPDATE YOU CAN GET. I GET THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE. (CANNOT COMPLETE THE CD WRITING WIARD)ALSO KNOWN AS WINDOWS ERROR MESSAGE # 324129.SO GOOD LUCK GUYS IM BUYING A TDK CD-RW. AND TRASHING MY HL-DT-ST GCE-8320B

I have a problem I can not burn any thing. I mean I see it has done some thing to the disk. But I can not read the disk I am using it on windows 2000 and Roxio 5.0 can some one help???

windows should autodetect and load drivers get your windows disk, for those with errors, try a fresh software install

i had used my writer for several months, but all of a sudden, my system cannot load or cannot identify this hardware anymore. i'm getting an error message. anybody can help me if there is any software required to re-install this stuff? please help me....thanks!

I have Windows 2000 Pro, and have tried Roxio EasiCD, CloneCD, and Nero Burning, and none recognise my CD writer, nor burn the CDs. Roxios gets close, but then after 29% returns an error message and I can throw the CD away. So far discarded more then ten. Please help.

Search for goldenhawk, and you can burn CDs under DOS or a DOS window. A bit inconvenient, but it works.

I also get the same problem...the power calibration error. Used to work fine until about 6 months ago, then it started acting up...
now , the cd/rw disappear from drives and there is a conflict mark"!"...anyone able to give me a heads up on it??

Hi, I am having a very difficult problem with my cd-rw 8320b, It will not copy anything, Everytime I proceed to burn a cd, it does not recognise that a cd is already inserted into th copy drive. I searched the internet for the appropiate driver and had no success, please HELP....

The same problem with LG cd-rw 8320b that has worked for a couple of mounts and than suddenly is not more recognized by the system. I have done everything possible searcing drives in all internet...formatting the HD,.. using new firmwares,.. out/in hardware connection,.. etc etc. WHAT TO DO MORE? HELP ME IF YOU CAN. THANKS

I have the same problem, I write up to 8x speed and after I download the update for roxio 7 , I can write up to 4x only.

i have been useing musicmatch plus for some time. but, recently the burns have been scratchy towards the middle of the cd and then slowly fades away. i have tried all adjustments i have access to.but i get nothing. i just want one nice burn.

I use the same model but i can't burn cds using Window Media PLayer anymore. I just recently updated from 9 to 10 and found out it wouldn't recognize my cd burner, i tried it with my dvd burner also but it didn't work with that either. I then reverted back to WMP9 and that didn't help. do i need to install a new driver or what??

Well!!! Definitly I had to through away my cd-rw gce-8320b and I bought a Pioneer DVD-RW which works perfectly. I'll never more buy in my life anythink of LG products. I had enought about it, CARFOX
