When I try to install Nero 5.5.10 on my computer I get the following message:
"The installation has detected that some of your systemfiles are outdated. In order to update these files the installation has to reboot your computer. The installation will continue after the reboot."
After I reboot I get the following message:
"The installation couldn't update your system files please get the latest updates for your operating system from Microsoft and afterward retry to install Nero-Burning Rom."
I have downloaded and installed all of the updates (critical and non-critical) for Windows 98 (my operating system) from the Microsoft web-site.
Can someone PLEASE help me install this software.

i had the exact same problem as you, i finally figured it out today. the only thing i did was install direct x 9 and then it installed perfectly. hope it works for you. |

I have the same problem. I installed directX9.c and still I am unable to get Nero 5.5 CD burning s/w installed. I have also installed all updates available for 98SE from Microsoft's website. I don't what else I should try. If any body knows any solutions for this problem please post here... Thanks in advance. |

Installation corrupted- Please reinstall NERO.
Please instruct me how to reinstall Nero properly.
