yes compatible with 7.
Install the HP Deskjet 1120c in Windows 7 (same way as you did for Windows Vista), but when you get to the screen where it asks you to "choose your printer from the list," it is not in the list by default (as you have found out). However, on this screen, it also tells you to "click Windows Update to see more models," so click the Windows Update button on this screen and wait for more drivers to be downloaded. Once this process is done, you can scroll the list again and the driver will be there. I've done this myself because I still use this printer on Windows 7 (been using it since Windows 98).
