you might try easy cd creator but any should do i a, running xp and it found it and i was able to use windows media player |

When I open the CDRW and close the light go on and off and never stop as It can't read disk event where no disk available in CD

I had my tower rebuilt.They installed software for pcrw804 philips cd burner instead of installing philips cdrw800 series cd burner/writing for me an i dont have the software to install my cdrw800 series cd burner/writer help me to install it |

Damm Philips CDRW800 Why it doesn't work... It is fuckin up my system by saying no cd-player once I had played it once... I have to reboot my system so that my cd-player will work again.. can anyone help me.. I had downloaded the driver CDRW800 and 805.. But my system keep telling me it's a Ms-Dos .exe file and to old for XP system.. How do I get that damm driver into my XP.. |

I have 2 Philips CD rw's, a CDD4801 and a PCR 804, and they were working until I installed XP. I've been all over the internet and all I find are more people like me and not a single driver that works. One wont stay closed and the other wont open but you can hear them trying to read the disk when I start my computer. HELP ME! |

Perhaps this helps the users with a pcrw804 and pcrw800 as well.
Use at your own risk! You won't find drivers on this site but you will find a manual and firmware.

I tested it by setting my BIOS to boot from CD, and loading a bootable cd in the drive. It booted and ran flawlessly, providing full access to the disk in the drive. But when you boot all of the way through to windows, it doesn't recognize it.
I called philips today and was told that the drive was defective. the lousy 'tech support' agent ignored my tale of successful boot and access from bios, telling me the drive was defective, and it wasn't worth my trouble to try and get it working in windows - that, if it weren't defective, windows would recognize it and enable it.
PHILIPS SUX! Join me in boycotting philips. |

I have a pcrw804, unsing windows xp my system saiy it is a PARU804. not matter what I do I can get it to work at all I have even tried to flash it but it does not support per the flash program.
The program that can with it was easy cd creator 3 I have tried several others but still dont work. |

I just hung up after talking with one of the Customer Support reps, who politely but not very sincerely told me that they can't help all of us needing the CDRW800 driver as they remove all information from their systems once they stop making a product. He offered no alternative solutions or suggestions -- just a lukewarm apology and have a nice day... |
