Try updating the firmware for your burner. The support site for the manufacturer of your CD Writer should have updated firmware.
Unfortuantely, not every CD burner will be able to support this format. Hopefully the manufacturer of your burner took this format (and the 900MB/100min CD-Rs) into account when they manufactured it. |

Apparently if you can burn an 80 min (700MB) CD-R, your drive should be capable of the 90 min (800MB) CD-Rs as well.
Most likely you need a firmware upgrade. |

Hello All,
You can use Nero 6.3 (I think Nero 559 also work) to write 800 MB data on to a 800 MB CD.
I did it successfully. (I use Asus Witer 52x24x52 Writer).
Here are links for details information for Nero Settings: (without this setting Nero will reject the CD if it's data exceeds 700MB)

good luck.

Or Try These things:
THESE SETTINGS REALLY WORK!!!!
Settings for over burning recording in Nero 5.5.7.6 For 90 min/800mb CDR
File/Preferences -Yellow marker: 73 min -Red marker: 93 min - Overburning enabled @ 93 min
Edit/Properties -no multisession -iso lev 1; mode 1 -dao -close disk -and other described above
But...... the trick is to make an image on HDD and then record from image. NO PROBLEM WITH RECORDING!!! :)
*************************************************************************
For Nero 6:
a)click No multisession
b)Change the ISO format to Mode 2/XA
c)click Finalize CD
d)write method :Disc-at-once
e)Go to File/Preferences/General and change the Red maker to 99.0.0 (thats for the 850mb cd's also)
f)Again in File/Preferences/Expert Features click Enable overburn and change the maximum cd length to 99.0.0 as well g)
THEN HAVE FUN & GOOD TOASTS
*************************************************************************
Here is the complete procedure:
1. Set Advanced Preferencies to Enable overburn Disc-at-once and set Max CD size = 90 min 30 sec.
2. Set General Preferences to Yellow marker 90 min 30 sec
3. Red marker 90 min 30 sec.
4. Set Choose Recorder Options to Smart Burn Enabled to OFF
5. Set Compilation Properties to No Multisession.
6. Set ISO to Mode 2 / XA
7. Set Write method to Disc-at-once/96
