I've been around many forums and no one has found the resolution to this problem:
If you have a Gigabyte motherboard -
Using XP with any service packs, XP will not run many games and will ask to insert the correct game disc. This, for sure, happens with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Doom3, and Farcry. I have not yet heard anything from Gigabyte support and have already installed the latest chipset drivers (Nvidia).
*Weird thing is that all games will run fine using Windows 2000 Pro. Sounds like XP and Gigabyte need to have a meeting. |

Well, if anyone comes across this problem, this worked for me:
Change all cd drives to PIO mode in XP.
