I had 2 problems, my Windows 98 had crashed and my CD-ROM drive crashed as well so I could not use the restore CD for Windows. I manually replaced the CD-ROM drive and booted up with the Windows 98 restore CD. Windows is now working fine, but my CD-ROM drive will not close, with or without a disk in it. The LED light is on and it was able to read the restore CD when I booted the computer up. What could be causing the CD-ROM drive to not work now??? |
