I just recieved my first computer and went to play some music on it and discovered that i hv no sound, but i do have a sound card on my motherboard. It came with the motherboard the reason why I got it and now i cnt hear anything........PLEASE HELP |

i have windows xp and when i try watch a movie or listen to music there is no sound at all i have tried to repair this myself by going in to the control panel and clicking sound but it set on low volume setting and it will not let higer the volume setting because it is shaded and i can not click on anythink to repair it please can u help thanks |

I have windows XP and just formatted my hard disk after many error messages. I reinstalled Sound Blaster 5.1 Digital drivers for the sound card. I checked my device manager and I have a problem with "Multimedia Audio Controllers" not being there. The drivers for Sound Blaster are installed and working. But when I try to use Windows MP or Nero I get a message that there is no sound device installed. Can you help. Thanks. |

I tried to play a cd from my walkman plugging into the front line in on my pc, only to find i had a dodgy connection.
i then tried to go through the rear input..nothing!
(At least in the front i could wiggle the jack to get one speaker working!)
But then...after a few tries,,NO SOUND from anything!!
Went through the usual stuff trying to fix it until, i changed the settings to 4 speakers,, there's the sound? but obviously, it's not right.
Will somebody please help? thanks. |

i was on my control panel last night and was deletin some programmes then i delected something i didint know by mistake and now the computer doesnt see to play any sound from my speakers or monotor. i go into control panel and go to sound then the speakers bit and there is nothing there to say there are speakers conected |

If you lost sound....you can look in add/hardware...and look up files sound....and step to step add/hardware...
You can search on the internet and look up which sound you are use in??download software drive....some manufacture got website like HP, Acer...

I have reinstalled windows XP home sp2 and can't get the sound to work. The pc was bought from TIME Computers about a year ago. Does anyone have the drivers? There is no name on the pc but it's the white tower, they only made one of these!! |

Here a solution i used.. face tis problem several time and i alway forget how i do it, now i juz remeberd... Go to ur motherboard manufacturer website and usually in website like that they have "search" juz key in ur motherboard's model and try to find a sound driver for it...juz download it, and hopefully it solve most of ur problems here :D |
