System Shutdown

I have a problem. At random times a box will appear on my computer and says that The system is shutting down. Please save all your work inn progress and log off...etc,etc. I've looked this up and all I could find was information about a Blast or Sasser virus, which I don't think is what is causing it because it does not say "Windows must restart because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly"
I suspect I have a faulty drive, but I could post a Hi-Jack This log if you'd like
Thanks

RE: System Shutdown

might I add that the message is something along the lines of "The process system32.exe was unexpectedly ended"
