RE: Koss DVD player - won't eject disc.

For anyone who is having what seems to be unresolvable problems with their Koss KS2503 system, it really isn't the junk you suddenly think it is. Here is a simple process to use anytime it seems to stop doing any of those things it has always done in the past (ie. won't eject, sudden sound loss or fade, etc.):

Unplug computer for at least 30 seconds.

Once power is restored, enter the following code into your remote: 7- 6- 4- 1- 9, then hit the power button.

This ought to reset the system back to its original function.

I ought to add, be sure to carefully point the remote at the receiver when inputting the reset code. I once had a guy swear this wouldn't work with his system, until I asked him to explain exactly how he was doing it. Turned out, he wasn't even in the same room when he input the number!

Koss KD270 has mind of it's own.

Hello one and all. I'm experiencing demons in my Koss KD270 machine, everything from various error messages to "waiting" display. Sometimes
it powers up, but mostly not. Disc will occasionally spin up, and the 5 disk tray will
open if it's in the mood. I do have electronics tech. training from way back, but any issues that sound familiar and have been solved....please help !!

RE: Koss DVD player - won't eject disc.

Our Koss KS2503 started tonight having the problem of turning on giving the "MSG 04" on the lcd and then turning off. If I pressed the AV button I could get it to turn on and stay on but as soon as switching to DVD it would have the same problem. Tried unplugging and waiting awhile and plugging back in but was a no go. So I turned to the net and came across this forum. Saw the post by cryophil and gave it a try. I didn't have to shave it at all, just greased it up like they said and put it all back together. Works like a charm now - as well as it did before anyhow (with all its quirks). Thanks for the help!

RE: Koss DVD player - won't eject disc.

The dealer lock feature was intended to prevent theft of discs when on display at the retail location. To turn it off:

1- Turn on the player
2- Press and hold the "STOP" button on the front panel of the player. While holding that, simultaneously press the "POWER" button on the remote control. You can release both buttons now. A message will say "dealer lock off" and now you can eject the disc.

It worked on Koss KD260.

RE: Koss DVD player - Sound cuts out

Hi all. Great forum! I have a Koss KS2503. The sound cuts out after 20-40 minutes of playing a DVD. Hitting the volume buttons(either up, or down)restores the sound. Is there something in "Setup" that I missed?
Thanking you in advance,
Sal

RE: Koss DVD player - KS2503 stuck in Porgressive mode

How do I reset to get out of progressive mode? Is it making the picture stuck in black and white mode or something else? Thanks,
also, what is AV1?

RE: Koss DVD player - won't eject disc.

For those of you with a "message 04" and problems with the tray not opening. You have a weak and stretched rubber on the motor that moves the tray gears. the words "I checked it and it seems fine" don't apply here. Change the rubber band. On a 5 disc tray you have 2 different motors. Change them both. If your tray does not open, you have to remove the complete laser and tray system and then slide the tray by hand once you have it out.
