HI. My LG DVD burner is not working. Windows XP
Nero
Worked good for a couple of months and then it started giving me an error at 27% into reading anything!? But it still reads CD's and views movies too?! Anyone got any ideas?

sounds like a harware failure or a loose cable. Check the inside of your computer for any loose cables. If this doesn't help, your computer may be overheating. Take off the side door of your case, point a big fan at it and burn a DVD. If it still fails you may need to buy an new DVD Burner. One that isn't a LG. But thats a last resort. Pioneers and Toshibas are usually good. |

Tried cables and heat issue. Your right. I have to face the inevidable. The DVD Burner has failed.
I am off to look for a Pioneer or Toshiba DVD Burner to replace the old one. Thanks again for your help! It was valuable!

I have a Pioneer dvd burner and it stop working. I check the device manager and says "working properly". But the burner does not read or write any dvd's or cd's. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same thing. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you |

My cd burner won't read any discs that I put in there. When I want to burn it prompts me to put in a blanc disk when there is one in there already. Any suggestions? |

I have replaced my cd burner once already and the new one has failed also. I hear the discs spinning in the burner but no dice. When i open hardware manager it is reading the drive and says working properly but it's not. WIndows media player wont recognize the device either. Any suggestions? |

I have a toshiba satellite laptop. When you try to burn a cd/dvd you can't.(problem burning)not sure if it is the software or the burner. I have tried different softwares and another burner and the same thing happens. But you can play the cd/dvd and it works.But if you look in the software manager it says everything is working just fine. |

My Inspiron 1525 cd/dvd burner stopped working. >> I broke down and
bought an external burner, which then wouldn't burn cds (grr). >> So, in
the process of verifying the drivers, I accidentally UNINSTALLED the
driver for the internal burner. It said Found New Hardware, and now
works. Perhaps as simple as that? |
