I am trying to save photographs onto a CD but when I click save a message appears telling me the CD is write protected and to try another CD. The CD's are brand new blanks and have not been used. Can you tell me how to remove the write-protection.

I have a thumb drive with pictures on it. I tried to delete some of the pictures but am not allowed due to them being "write-protected." I have no idea how to delete them and have no idea how they got write protected in the first place. I also seem to have a problem with hidden files that are filling up all my drives well before their capacity is reached. I had them all reformatted by a dealer and it did no good. Any answers? |

all you have to do to remove write protection is right-click on the folders of your CD on the computer and go to properties there it will say read only , hidden or arrcive if you see closly it might be selected on read only so you un select it and go for the second option that you get "warning : not the first" and vwallah |

To copy a write protected cd first install a tv card, I use hauppage PVR 150. I connect a dvd player to the tv card. I then play the dvd that I want to copy on the dvd player. I then save the video signal with NERO and copy it onto a new DVD. This system will copy any DVD movie ever made no matter what protection scheem they use. |

P.S. Perhaps this may be apart of ur problem.
The "R" in CD-R stands for "Recordable". Unfortunately, with CD-R discs, you can only write on them once. After that, whatever is on the disc is all that will ever be on the disc. You can't even delete items that have been written to a CD-R. When you plan on storing things on a CD-R, make sure that you get everything together ahead of time and write it all to the disc at the same time.
If you are looking to have a disc that allows you to write more than once to, then you will need to get a CD-RW (the "RW" stands for "ReWriteable"). You will need to make sure that your CD Drive can handle CD-RW's, though. However, most of the drives that can handle CD-R's can handle CD-RW's. |
