I have just upgraded my system to Windows XP and now my Adaptec CD Writer (Iomega Zip CD 650) does not work. The system recognizes this hardware as a CD drive but not as a writer. I have tried to find driver updates in the Adaptec page but no such luck.
As for the software: I have Roxio WinOnCD 3.8 Power Edition and CD Easy Creator Basic, both with the updates for Windows XP. But of course that does not help me as long as my computer does not recognize the writer being a writer and not only a CD drive.
Can someone please help me?! Thanks in advance. |

whenever i try to burn a cd through windows media player it would say looking for device and then would not proceed to next step. please help

Go Device Manager ---->choose your device DVD/CD-Rom Drives--->right click on your CD/writer--->Uninstall--->and then Click Scan for hardware changes.
Add new hardware...
Otherwise.....you can try Software Nero5..... I knowns many PC got problem with CD writer...after reboot or updates XP ...try use that...good luck !! |

I have a CD-RW, a DVD and a CD-RW DVD. All three drivers to these CD's were somehow disconnected. How can I reconnect them? |
