I have a rebuilt Dell GX270 running XP Pro with S/P2. The CD drive (LG CD-RW CED 8080B) was removed from my previous PC - an IBM Net Vista - and was working in that PC. The driver for the CD is v5.1.2535.0 (7/1/2001). I've tried to update it and this appears to be the most current driver.
The CD can read fine (e.g., I can install software and play audio CDs) but isn't able to burn. I've tried burning with Nero 5.5 (using Memorex CD-R 700 MB, 80 minute, 1X to 16X), then bought some Verbatim media (CD-R 700 MB, 80 minue, 52X) and used the burn feature within Windows. Everything looks fine during the burning ... the light is flashing on the CD drive and I don't receive any errors. But when it's finished and I remove/re-insert the media, it's blank.

my problem is that when i burn using a imation or any cd-rw disc, i can't burn anything at all. i don't have problem burning using any rewitable cds.. im us to have a roxio 7.5 and chance it to nero 6 ultra edition.. my burner came with my compaq desktop..
