I have just upgraded my system to Windows XP and now my CDR-W Sony CRX 175E2
does not work. The system recognizes this hardware as a CD
drive but not as a writer.
I tried to find some driver updates in the Sony page but no such luck.
As for the software I have Easy Creator
5 platinum and the B's clip from sony.
The CDR-W works in win 98 but on XP doesn't Can someone please help me?! Thanks |

I think you're lucky at least the cd wrks with win 98. I have a crx 175e2 S002 won't record at all in win 98 using B's gold..what gold..sony's no help.

I don´t know how but i´ve got it going on!!!
my cdrw is working right now i´m using nero 5.5.8.0
i bought my recorder and took it to the shop not working properly, they just changed it and, now it´s workin´, but the first one worked for a few days.

as i said before i got it working with windows xp professional and nero 5.5.8.2 at the moment, i haven´t done anything special, so it should work for everybody.

I also got this problem. My CD RW (CRX195E1) can't write in Sony's B Recorder nor Nero5.5.2.3

My problem is a little different from yours. My sony recorder works properly in Windows 98 e 2000, but B's Clip won't in Windows XP (other cd writer than sony). If anyone gets the key answer, please let me know.

I upgraded from ME to XP, now my CDRW is unable to burn jpegs, doc., or excel files. It works fine for music files with two different burning softwares. Not sure what to do....help anyone? |

I was using B's Recorder Gold under Windows 98 & the SONY 16/X10X/40X CD-RW was working fine.
When I installed Windows XP after removing Windows 98 & tried to install B's Recorder Gold, it showed errors on execution.
Could anybody advise whether update/patch is available & the alternate way to solve this problem.

I had the same problem and it was fixed after installing the latest update from B's for thier software. Windows XP and LG DVD+-RW. |

My BS gold 5 does not work in win XP but it works in win 98.In the XP my screen turns blue with some numbers and then my PC restarts by its own.My nero 6.3 does not work either heeeeeeeelp |

Before I upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Professional I backed up all my files with my CD-RW... it worked just fine; no problems whatsoever. ONE DAY LATER when I finished my upgrade, my CD-RW would not recognize my blank CD's. It keeps saying to insert a blank CD, even though one is in the drive. It will READ CD's, but will not burn.
When I reformatted (AGAIN) and installed ME again, and not XP Professional, it still would NOT work. I'm so aggravated by this. It is as if Microsoft XP fried my CD-RW!! I'm sooo pleased that I paid $200 for an upgrade to XP Professional that will end up making me costing me the purchase of a new CD-RW as well. Thanks a lot Microsoft!
Any suggestions whatsoever? Could the laser need cleaned? It's so strange! HELP! |
