I recently installed my LGE cd rewriter exactly as described here and in the instruction booklet. However windows 98 has not detected my new drive. It is not listed in system or on my computer. I have tried the add new hardware wizard but that did not detect my new writer either.I have tried alternating MAster and SLave ports also but with no luck. My cd rewriter is recieving power as i can eject etc... Why isn't windows detecting it?? |

i had my asus cd writer that i been usin for almost a year, the problem now is that after i use it to another pc the computer couldnt detect it no longer, also it help slows down the computer. i dont know whats wrong with it, when the cd room is connected the computer runs well but not when connected with cd writer. please help, i need to know the problem itself and the possible solution.

Hey, i have an ASUS cd writer and a SAMSUNG dvd rom, but both don't work. it will NOT read ANY disks, whether it be a simple audio cd or a program cd. I have tried installing drivers but it says i don't need them, PLEASE HELP!!
