| Eric on June 18, 2008 | | Hi Benjamin. You make a good point. I also find it quite ridiculous that Hewlett-Packard seems to need 166 megabytes to make a driver. They should be able to write a driver in a few megs at the most. Even if they are bundling drivers for a few devices into one file, there is no excuse for such large file sizes. And believe me, having to host such large files on our servers is as painful as your download over dial-up. | | Benjamin on June 16, 2008 | | If you think those of us limited to dial-up speeds are willing to download over 166 MB just for a junk printer driver, think again! HP has no excuse for publishing such cr*** drivers! But I don't understand why nobody has released an alternative for XP. (There is a trimmed-down 98/ME version on driverguide.com that's only about 8 MB!) |
