I have recently installed a Medion MD9340/intern cd writer using windows 95.
The computer is seeing this as a standard cd rom. How do I configure the computer so that it see's it as a cd writer. The drive works okay when copying from a pre-recorded disc to hard drive, but ejects when I try to record. Any information would be grately appreciated. |

Graham,
All CD-Writers will appear as regular cd-rom drives from within windows (in My Computer) and they may be used just like a standard cd-rom drive. To record to the cd-writer you will need to use special software such as Adaptec Easy CD Creator or Nero Burning ROM. If it still does not work after using appropriate cd writing software, you may wish to contact the manufacturer of your cd-writer.

Nero has always worked well for me in the past, but now when I try to burn files onto a CD, it runs to 4% in the bottom entry window where it says "Sony RW CRX1-E Track" (the disk type), then it stops and just sits on 4% and doesn't go any further. I left it for 35 minutes and no change.
Anyone else have this problem?

i bought two days ago an BTC 48x16x48 CD Writer, my problem is if i copy an music cd with the cd writer it will only be compatible with my CD ROM and not with MY HIFI at home or my Car CD Shuttle.

i have a emachine computer. And i just got a external cd writer. and it came with nero-cd burning rom. and when i try to write a cd on the burn tab it says write and under that it says finalize with little boxs next to them so that you can check them and the finalize one doesn't always come up you can't check it. So i push the burn button and then it goes to about 80-85% then it like stops. but the time thing still goes up but really slow. Kinda like its going to fast for the computer. Or it will say the burn has failed and only burn like 84% of it. I don't understand what is wrong with it i installed it right followed the directions. And still don't get it.
SO i installied Easy-Cd creator and when i push the burn button it says it can't find Cd Recorder. If you can help me. It is really making me mad not being able to burn.
Please help me if you can.

I recently disconnected my Nero cd writer to put in for service, long story, but Techs removed audio cable. Bought another, but sys not recognising drive. Put Nero disk in DVD/cdrom drive and installed driver. Probably a stupid thing to do! But now my computer is doing all strange things. Instead of recognising my DVD player as so, it thinks it's some sort of CD writer and a d: drive has appeared but nothing is happening. When I try to open Explorer my computer freezes aswell.
I don't have a clue what to do from here on in! |

I have tried to install a new CD-RW into a machine that has already had another RW in it( It had to be removed because it was faulty) and it had left over software on it, Nero version 5 ( i think) anyway, I removed all the software from the PC and anything in the registry that had anything to do with nero or ahead but i keep getting this damn error, "Internal Error 2254., feature".
Has anybody had this or knows what to do about it?? I would really appreciate any help. |

I have installed a 12 speed A-Open cd writer into my pc and use Nero 5.0 as the burning software. I can burn data cd's perfectly, but when I try to burn audio cd's, a window appears with the message: The writer is not installed, the driver is not installed, or there's a problem converting the .cda-files. Can anybody tell me how to solve this problem ? |

In asia we use vcd inlike in america its dvd. My problem is if i copy vcd to my cdrw and if its done already and i tried to view it, it paused every now and then. I dont really know what seems to be the problem please help me. Thank you. |

i have an hp cdrom and an hp cd-writer. Music cd's launch (media player for example) in the cdrom just fine but when i try the cd-writer i get about 5 seconds of the first track (the timer doesn't even register any playing time), then it stops playing for about ten seconds and repeats that on the next track, etc. i have done about ten things recommended by hp support to na avail. Help! |

I have owned a Yamaha CRW8824E since 1998. I have had no problems burning CDs until recently. It seems to read okay but when I finnished burning music on the CD, I would try to play it on a regular CD player. Either the CD player would not read it or if the songs did play, you would hear the disk skip or hear flipping sounds in the background. Even the burner itself could not play the CD just burned. I updated my Easy CD Creator 5 using the web but it didn't help. I am just wondering, could it just be the age of the CD burner? |

For all those using Nero and are having INTERNAL ERROR 2254 problem, here is the solution which worked fine for me.
First make sure you have your Nero 5 serial key to install Nero/Nero Express with. It should look like 15xx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxx. It should be located on the inside of the Nero Jewel case, or on the back of the paper sleeve the Nero CD came in. You can also go into your Registry, and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and under SOFTWARE_AHEAD_NERO BURNING-ROM_INFO obtain your Nero 5 serial key from here.
Then download NeroClean Tool from ftp://ftp9.nero.com/attach/Nero-CleanTool.zip
to your desktop. Unzip the file and then double click on the EXE file to run. Select 'Clean All' option and then click on the 'Clean' button to Uninstall all Nero products. And then reboot your system. It will clean the registry and remove all Nero entries.
After that download and install the latest Nero version from our website at ftp://ftp4.nero.com/nero551042.exe using your Nero 5 serial key to unlock from Demo mode. |

In one ASUS 48x CD writer I can not write a CD in more than 16x using nero burn6 (which was previously possible), also if I write multi track in a CD-R using that CD writer, writer itself failed to read that CD whereas it writes without problem .
