My CD-RW drive was working fine with Nero 5.5 software. After no problems for years, Nero started having periodic problems detecting the drive. Then , I got a message stating that the "...administrator has to grant you the rights to write to cd. Download BurnRights at www.nero.com..." I did that and granted "everybody rights", but it keeps asking me to get rights from the administrator (I'm the only one using the computer) and still doesn't detect the drive anyway. Any clues? |

Try adding 4 files to Windows/System32: drvmcd.sys, MxlW2k.sys, pxhelp20.sys, sscdbh5.sys. It made both of my cd-roms light up! Once you add them, go to Device Manager and uninstall Cd-rom, then click the Action-Scan for Hardware Changes button. ronnsb@gmail.com |
