At this point, the MicroSD is WRITE PROTECTED, and so, if I remove it from my phone and insert it into my PC, it is READ-ONLY.
In order to make the MicroSD WRITABLE, I have to "Switch Storage Device" back to "Phone" while the MicroSD is inserted in the phone.
I can then remove the MicroSD from the phone, connect it to my computer, and change the contents.

If ur trying to copy a cd to an mp3 player u have to convert the wma extention to mp3 format and this should take the write protect off. if it's already in an mp3 format try opening the tracks properties and remove the read only box. If this works well yeah for all of us but my problem is also with a Lyra and I was able to put wma files on my mp3 player but now I can't remove them. the hold button isn't a fix for me because I can add and remove mp3 files but not the wma ones I put on when I was ignorant. oh, i guess i still am because I can't get the fucking things off....16 tracks of my ignorance HELP! |

Just give a format to the disk in the player (it's not c: !)and you can rewrite it. |

Have a colby mini Mpc. I deleted all the song off it. I can't load new songs on it because it says it is Write Protected. I have turned the hold button off. That does not help.
This is driving me crazy! Please help!

i have the solution if you have been trying to load songs from your computer/laptop via usb on the mp3 all i had to do was to switch the usb port and it worked perfectly

I've been reading this thread for a bit and I figured something out. I have been trying to put an mp3 file on my memory car for my phone. It was not in the lock position, trust me I check about a zillion times, and I decided to go out on a limb and try something. I put it in the lock position and amazingly, it worked. I think it's possible some are wired wrong or whatever. You may want to give this crazy theory a try. I don't know if it will work for you, but it did for me. Hope this might help at least one person. |

This write protected Thing I had with my MP3 player (shuffle style) and and told me to use a software called Data Secure Wiper and put in on destructive mode and wipe entire USB device Drive. Then you can format it on your Disk Management section on Device management! It work Great!!!! Problem should be solved! |
