Instead of reinstalling win xp, i searched the key with regedit, double clicked it and hit backspace to clear it, then clicked OK for LowerFilters. I didn't find an entry for UpperFilters. All you need to do now is go back into device manager and disable the drive, then enable it and BAM, there it is! |

You guys are awesome. I've been working on this problem for half the night with a great tech but we could not solve the issue.
I read your posts and went to the registry and deleted UpperFilters .. I could not delete LowerFilters and there was nothing re: UpperFilters.bak or LowerFilters.bak. I exited the registry and rebooted, went to the Device Manager and WOOHOO!! The errors were gone .. and I could finally view my dvd and cdrw for the first time all night.
You are awesome!! Arigato DUDES!!!

My CD-R/RW is missing from my computer
Plz Help
i got this error message from device managaer
Message:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 28)
i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing worked plz help |

CD_R/RW SW-252C is missing(Code 28).

My CDRW is still missing.

I have a Samsung CDRW internal drive that has gone missing after I deleted roxio. I get an error message in the properties window "Device cannot start (code 10)". Ive tried some of the troubleshoot problems but none of them work. Ive been working on it all night and Im about to go crazy! Also in the device manager where it lists the cd drives, it lists this "SQMSU^G0 CT-R/RW0SW-252S0" as one of the druves. HELP! |

Now there are totally 7 binary files in thae path.
I tried deleting the 2 specified files in above path, still my pc does'nt detect my combo drive please guide me.
Should I reload windows xp on to my system? |

I am able to detect my combo drive now, but try ing to install a software from the CD in the drive is giving me an error.
"error COMCTL3r.dll not found"
I tried formatting/installing windows xp, yet the problem persists.
Request you to help me out to solve the issue.
