I want to install Nero that was already installed but some problems were there. I tried to remove it from add remove program but not success. Then I removed manually. But during installation it give an error message:

When i insert the cd the LED glows, but still the computer doesn't detect it. there always come a short sign that the computer has detectet the cd but still it doesn't read it. My problem is that I use windows 98 and i installed Nero 6 for my Lg 52x32x52 but it doesn't work really well.
I put 128 Mb of memory, thinking that maybe was that the problem but doesn't work.

power calibration error is caused by three factors> dirty cd writer,bad blank cd,dead cd writer from use of cracked cds .do check these before flashing you firmware .

I have LG-CD Writer 8527B, suddenly some problems seem to have taken place while I can open and place the Cd in the drive without any problem, but sadly it is not being read. No action takes place when CD is put in the drive. The CD drive symbol is not visible in the Internet Explorer either, the operating system is Win 98 and it behaves as though there is no cd-drive. |

When I use Nero "make data disc" to copy my powerpoint files with pictures to burn onto a CD-R or CD-RW using a SAMSUNG CD Writer (52X32X52), I tried to read the powerpoint file after burning from the CD but couldn't even open at all.
Is there some compatibility issue with the SAMSUNG CD Writer or Nero program?
For your information, my PC system is a Pentium 4 with Windows 98 (SE) and the Powerpoint version is from Microsoft Office 97.
Please advise what I should do?
Previously, I had used an ACER CD Writer with the Veritas DLA program and there were no problems.

Solution for > Power Caliberation error <
i Had this problem, i tried diff medias but the problem persisted, finally i desided i should go with a cleaning from the shop i bought writer from, then i went to bring it back home the service buddy said "we did the service, but they say lense might be weak" so i decided to bring it back and had a try again coz i knew the lense was not weak as i burned only 70 odd cds, i was amazed to see the error was gone and the burning was back to super again...
so i would recomend every one having this problem to have a go with clean servicing to make it smoothest, since i read a lot about this error but couldnt get any solid solution so i decided to post this by my own.. i hope it helps with you all.. Do pray for me.. thanks |

i got my cd writer about 5 months ago. well its a samsung brand and is rated 52x 32x 52x. it was working fine but since last 2 months it has startedgiving problems. it either gives data verification failed or power caliberation error.
i use nero version 6.
i have wasted 47 cds like this and its really burning my nerves. i took it to the retailer but that bstard is saying that i had done something wrong to it. a person said to clean the lens and lubricate the head buti dont know how to do that.
i will be really thanful to the person giving solution to this problem. plz help me out. |

It can burn audio and Mp3 cds well however after burning a VCD, Windows media player cannot read the file. This problem has happened after using Nero 6, Blazer Pro and Sonic. I have a Windows XP system and I use the drive as a USB drive. Needless to say I have wasted a lot of blank CDs...When I use the CD writer on someone else's laptop it runs well.

Hi, I have a Samsung writer(Powered by SAT). Let me tell you that it is one big piece of shit. If there is any problem while writing the CD(eg: the power goes, it cannot erase or rewrite on the CD). Recently, I wasn't even able to erase a disc written by the same damn writer itself. It wasted 10 min of my time and then I was able to see the same files in the CD. I was under the belief that it had something to do with my moser baer cds. But I was able to erase them on my cousin's SONY Cd writer. I really miss my HP 8210. Unfortunately, it can't recognize these new hi speed CD RWs. Pity though. I'd used this 4X HP writer for six long years and have written over two hundred times with it. I'm never going to buy stuff from this korean bastard samsung. At least the japs or the american brands focus on quality and will never dole out such crap. From my exp, I would recommmend HP. Don't know much about SONY writers but I will never buy ANYTHING from Samsung again. That'll teach them to dole out shit from their stables. |
