to anyone who brought from argos, have just taken my second 512mb player back to them. they changed it with no trouble. told me to keep bring back until happy with it, or take both back for refund(thinking about this).
Don't go to Root as this seems to be a big problem.

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

bought mp3 - 256mb at xmas tried using ipod tunes and media player to download tunes from a cd and from the net,got an arrow on(plugged in)player showing transfer between pic of computer and pic of folder(each way),but when i remove and try to use player, the msc icon says no files. Help me somebody before i beat the argos security guard back to normal.lol
caz on February 20, 2006
RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

found out, over time, you can only download mp3 tunes to mp3 player. try going to www.download.com and look for express rip, this will convert cd's to mp3 foremat.
don't blame argos[poor things can't help it if some of there stuff is cr**.] either take back for a new one as i did, twice or ask for a refund [you need to take both back if you got the special{ha} deal].
good luck, hope this helps, but im no expert so sorry if it doesn't

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

Trying to delete the music files of a second hand IItronics IMP-11 MP3 player, 512MB. But they are write-protected. I don't know if this is the MP3 player or the person who had it before, but whichever it is, can anyone help?
Thanks.

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

to delete files on the player, you must open up the folder the music is in. (e drive) and then delete all the music on there. u can only put wma and mp3 so if u put in a cd in widows media player, u can go to rip and then the files will become wma. Please can some 1 help me though cos i hav songs in itunes and would like to rip em but cant. can sum 1 help???

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

Just bought this player and cant do anything with it.When I plug it into my computer nothing happens - it does not register it (even tho I have XP)I dont get any of the menus shown on the guide book on the actual player, it just shows a picture of a computer and an open file - anyone know what I can do ???
James Blay on February 25, 2006
RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

Alyson, have you tried the extention lead that there was included? if it doesnt load up go into my computer and go to drive e. you can copy and paste music into this file as long as they are ripped in windows media player or mp3 format!!! there should be a picture of an arrow pointing from a monitor to a drive. that means that the song has been downloaded onto the player.
caz on February 26, 2006
RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

Alyson, mine does this. Try going to My Computer, plug mp3 in. It should come up as Removable Disk(E:), click on this. you can then go to mp3 music files or rip cd's and download sending to that folder.
If you look at the mp3 as you do this you should see the arrow move directions.

I initially managed to download tracks on to the player thru my computer and then dragging files to the removable disk. Now it gets stuck. I plug the player in to the pc and it brings up the removable disk, but when I click on it the pc locks up..

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

To put music on your player simply:.....

1. Get the files onto your computer, if you havent done this then all you have to do is pu tin the cd go to windows media player and then to rip cd. Select the location of the disk from the dropdown list and click rip.

Being that you have this much done the files will be transfered to your harddisk. The default location for this will usually be Start>My Music Folder. If not search c: using search. You songs will be under unknown artist as you didnt input the names.

2. The iitronics IMP-10/11 has copy protection. My best advice is when you put it in first time FORMAT IT. When you do so it will show as a removable device (Not AS**-Media Device)

3.Find the tracks that you want to have on your MP3. Open the removable drive in my computer. This will open a folder for storing. Next select the files you want, you may just select them all until highlighted then right-click and select copy.

4. Next go to your mp3 folder you opened and right-click paste. See where i'm going with this?

5. The disk will support MP3 and WMA formats so theres really no need to be converting unless its a MP4 etc.

Hope this helped LW.....

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

I have used this with no problems other than the folder structure is limited in that you cannot have artist\album\songs you can only have artist\song or album\song.

Those who are having problems with I-tunes BIN IT. Try audiograbber for converting CD's it's free and easy to use. Sometimes if you leave the mp3 plugged into your PC when it is reboot or powered on windows thinks it's a hard disk and runs scandisk which can corrupt files causing the MP3 to switch off when it gets to a corrupt song.

my imp-11 works ok with XP but I have tried linking it into an Me machine and I cannot get it to work. It asks for the original system set up disk to get the drivers off. Can I get the driver from anywhere else?

caz on March 30, 2006
RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

After taking 2 512mb's back i think i've now cracked it. I've got the hang of it, yes!! 1. don't go on root, easy. 2. use mp3 files when downloading and 3. if all else fails, just return to shop for exchange or refund.
This time i have managed to download twice without,(touch wood)any trouble. At this rate i might have this one more than 2 months (over a month longer than before)What do i think of this product; getting better but would love an ipod

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

I've fumbled and got confused but it looks as if you open windows media player - choose your track from your music files and right click. Choose synchronise and it puts itself into the drive you need it to be in (the E drive which is the mp3 player)
*fingers crossed*

Does anyone know if there is a way to shuffle all the songs on the mp3 player? I'm sure it said there was a shuffle function when I read about it in the argos catalogue. =\

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

I brought lltronics 512 Mb MP3 player. It was working fine. Then I wanted to delete MP3 files on it and it would'nt delete them both on the MP3 player it self and on the PC. When trying to delete the files on the MP3 player it would start to delete the file then it would turn itself off. When deleting the files on the PC there would be an error coming up saying that the files were curupt. Also I couldn't play some of the MP3 files properley without it going strange. So I went back to the place were I got it from which was Argos and got a replacement. I now have the replacement at the moment but is starting to do the same thing as the other one was doing. There is a big technical screw up on these MP3 players.

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

I need some serious help and will be extremely grateful if anyone can help me.

I got the IMP-11 mp3 player for christmas and it was working fine. But then I had to change the hard disk and now my computer doesnt seem to detect the mp3 player even though i have installed the mp3 utilities again. Also, I cant find drive E:, when I search for it, it says it has been moved or removed.
And when I click on what I think is the removable disk icon, it says removable disk not detected.

Why is this???

Cheers

RE: IItronics IMP-11 MP3 Player

Hey

I bought a portable WMA/MP3 Player IMP-11 512MB from Argos for £39.99 and it was excluded from the 16 day money back guarantee offer, and when I downloaded WMA files onto it I downloaded sub-folders as well as folders, and now every time I try to download WMA files onto the MP3 Player and play them, it says “File Error” and doesn’t play the music. Where exactly in the manual does it say you can store folders but not sub-folders because all it said in mine was “you can manage the files through the D drive” which surely means you can manage the folders and sub-folders, but when I downloaded the folders and sub-folders and tried to play a song it said File Error and now I can’t store any WMA files on there, only MP3 which is disappointing and makes me well and truely pissed off as I have a lot of WMA files which I wanted to download onto it. I want to get it repaired because the MP3 Player offered a warranty card, does anyone know where I can get it repaired using my warranty card? If not, does anyone know a solution to this problem?
